Are you looking for the best desserts near Osan Air Base? Here are ten spots that international residents often vote for in the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun poll each year. Where is Osan Air Base? Osan Air Base is a US Air Force Base located in Singjang-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The area may also be called Songtan by both international residents and many Koreans who work with international residents. However, when people reference Songtan they may also be referencing Seojeong-dong, Jisan-dong, or parts of Godeok as well. Clarifying locations with exact addresses becomes important when sharing information for locations in this area. What Dessert Options Are Available? There are many dessert options to choose from near Osan Air Base. Businesses offer choices from cakes, donuts, and cookies to homemade macarons. Whether you are looking for a cozy cafe to enjoy a date night dessert or a quick stop to pick up donuts to share at the office, there are many great places ready to indulge your sweet tooth. Korean desserts often feature flavors that might not be as sweet as their American counterparts. Additionally, Korean desserts may come in flavors that are not as common in the states such as sweet potato or injeolmi. It is always fun to try some new flavors and check out the old favorites that might have a new spin on them. Consequently, you might find new options to order on future visits. However you choose to satisfy your need for sweets, you will find sweet treats to delight your senses. Pumpkin Spice Season in Pyeongtaek https://staging.southofseoul.net/pumpkin-spice-season-in-pyeongtaek-south-korea/ Sat, 10 Oct 2020 01:10:22 +0000 http://blog.southofseoul.net/?p=3251 Lanae Rivers-Woods, MAIT

Pumpkin Spice Lovers, we’ve got your back. It’s pumpkin spice season in Pyeongtaek and we have a list of lattes to try. (updated September 2023) About Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Pyeongtaek US ex-pats are very lucky in Pyeongtaek because a few coffee shops cater to our weird fixation with pumpkin spice by creating their own homemade recipes. Each pumpkin spice recipe is a little different and all of them are pretty darn tasty. These lattes are not going to taste like Starbucks. Instead, they are rich and sweet concoctions that have been taste-tested and tweaked for each cafe’s customers’ taste. I think you are going to love them. Culture Points About Pumpkin Spice Lattes Please remember “Pumpkin Lattes” are NOT the same as “Pumpkin Spice Lattes”. Pumpkin lattes are full of flavor and a wonderful Korean fall treat. They are pumpkin and milk with no coffee and no spices. I get them at Starbucks and have them add coffee. Try Pumpkin Lattes but don’t confuse them with Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Indie Cafes v Starbucks Indie Cafes make better pumpkin spice lattes in our opinion. In 2021 Starbucks began offering US-style pumpkin spice lattes in Korea. However, the Korean Starbucks version tended to be weak in spice flavor and high in sugar. It felt boring and too sweet after years of magical homemade versions. Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Pyeongtaek Thank you for coming to my ‘pumpkin spice season in Pyeongtaek’ latte TED talk. Hopefully, I have helped bring a little basic joy into your life during this beautiful fall. Fall in Korea brings with it cozy flavors and seasonal favorites, and few are as beloved as pumpkin spice. Our friends at United on the RoK Magazine—a community-focused publication that highlights local life, culture, food, and resources for military-connected families and expats in Korea—shared some perfect fall reads. If you’re craving a taste of home, check out their guide to Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Pyeongtaek. For those who love baking, their Pumpkin Bread Recipe is a cozy must-try here.
